I’ve recently done a lot of research with cats, small mammals and essential oils. I have learned that cats (and small mammals) suffer in how they metabolize and excrete certain substances from their bodies. Their sensitivity can be found in their liver. Cats do not have the necessary enzymes to break down certain substances and excrete them effectively. This leads to buildup rising in their bodies. Well then how do we help cats in a natural/safe way?
Instead of using the oil from a plant (essential oil), we use floral water(or hydrosols). It’s kind of like infusing a plant in water and using that water.
Here are products I’ve made for cats and small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, ferrets, gerbils…):
ear cleaner,
itchy skin spray,
deodorizing and cleaning spray (summer flower cleaning blend),
healing salve for cracked paws, nose and all kinds of booboos.
